Hello everyone!!

I have worked in the care sector for 23 years and I have learnt and done slot so my knowledge is quite good (when needed)

Yet it seems to me no matter where you go to work now , be It care homes - service users homes - hospitals it is full of staff that know everything, but in reality know nothing.

They are more interested in gossip , being popular instead of doing there job!!

I'm having a good moan so I do apologize!! Yet currently have issues with my place of work.

I know more and have more experience than any other member of staff including MANAGER, I am a what you see is what you get kind of person and go to work to work NOT socialise or make friends. I've never been reported or fallen out with anyone, it seems everyone likes the way I am Honest, truthful and like to have a giggle YET know what to do when my service users need me, be that a emergency, getting them correct health professional or a good old chat is needed. Everyone and every place is different so I'm always learning and making new friends.

Yet just recently a few members of staff (2) who are always asking me questions on what to do for different problems covering medical concerns to general things and I only give my opinion when asked but these ladies ,who are fully aware I am the kind of person who states IF YOU have a problem with me THAN come to me face to face if I'm wrong than I will totally own up or I will deal with there issue with me.. Think by trying to sabotage me they get closer to managers backside and think they know more than me which is funny yet annoying. The manager must like the arse licking as they are failing to listen to others, mainly the service users!! Recent areas of s/users issues <-- way they spoken to---ignored when they try to tell them they feel unwell... Normally I would just deal and help them and remarked maybe they were busy or distracted..... But IVE OPENED MY EYES SINCE they became care staff (1-cook&1-had home help company car closed her down) you hear them telling s/users GO sit down ×>10 times they are not dogs!!!

AM I THE ONLY PERSON who works with people like this???? Is it now all about the money and social gatherings status than ensuring vulnerable/unwell s/users young or old getting the best help you can give them???

Local council doesn't see this , CQC don't see this ??? I can walk away they can't!!!

Is a hidden camera the way we must all go before the people who are meant to oversea care companies will listen! !!

Thank you for letting me rant hopefully some of you will totally understand what I'm saying and others who don't still I say thank you for letting me rant..if you want to please comment ( if pleasant) or you want to rant about your problems

Why are there not more English people doing the home help/live in care jobs? I want to start care at home for my mother with someone living in who has a cultural background which allows her to converse and discuss things with her whilst she is still able to keep her mind active. She lives in a nice house in South Yorkshire and want her to be able to stay there for as long as possible.

Hello David, I'm not to far from Bristol and can't find a carer anywhere. I don't know what to do either. I'm new to this blog so don't know if pm is here. If it is please feel free to pm me. I'm going to navigate around now. Best wishes to your mum 💐

Hi Mumma97

I relate so much to you. I left nursing many moons ago, I could not abide lazy colleagues or the ones who licked staff sisters boots.

I am also finding difficulty in finding an English Carer who will be able to offer care and companionship They seem to be a dying breed. My mother in law is of the older generation she said she would like a nice lady to share her house with.

I have advertised but could not find anyone suitable. We are going for two part timers so if anybody out there has a good suggestion I am prepared to listen. We are in Suffolk area.
