Can you have flu vaccine while on course of amoxillan for asthma/ bronchiectasis?Thank you...

Hello Primrose123, I’m on flucloxycillin right now (Bronchiectasis) with a flu jab scheduled for Wednesday. I asked at the surgery and they said hold onto the appointment and make a decision the day before based on how I feel. My antibiotics are due to be finished that morning. I’m also interested in other members views on this just to be sure.

Thank you MMog,I go tomorrow Monday for my flu vaccine,I am still on Amoxicillin,but will discuss with practice nurse if vaccine is advisable!!! I wish you well MMog & I will let you know how I get on tomorrow...God bless..x

Decided to cancel flu vaccine appointment MMog,until course of antibiotics finish,I will then. Phone appointment for vaccine the following week

Ah, hope you are feeling better soon. I’m planning on going for mine following the test results indicating no infection. I’ve no idea why my cough is suddenly so much worse if no infection, but that is another matter .....

Hi I Am on amoxicillin permanently because of immune deficiency 2 500 capsules per day I have had my Flu jab a couple of weeks ago what problems were you expecting I had no reaction to the flu jab

Thank you for your kind reply Spalding Sparks, I guess that I was just being cautious,& wanted to ensure that it was ok to have flu vaccine whilst on antibiotics,I was advised however to wait until course was finished,which I did do.I suppose we are all different when it comes to various illnesses,what suits 1 patient perhaps may not suit another.. The bottom line was Spalding Sparks I did eventually recieve my flu vaccine & all was well...Happy Christmas to yo Spalding Sparks & I wish you good health & much happiness in the coming year...x
