Hello! I’m new here I’m 37 years old woman. One week ago I have done my Fibroscan privately and had such a worried results CAP 226 and kPa75, which is highest possible result. My GP told me before I had slightly elevated AST and ALT last time I had blood checks two years ago. I had a stressed last four years and had a wine on the weekends sometimes 3-4 times a week a bottle of wine before sleep. Now I cut off alcohol and trying a good diet. I booked appointment with GP in 5 days but I can’t wait for any opinions about my condition. I don’t have any symptoms like yellow skin or stomach issues. Also I have done this scan in different country on the next day after meeting my friend and had a drink wine.

Thanks for any replies.

There are numerous things that can falsely inflate your fibroscan score so it would be wise to get follow up with your doctor.

Ongoing inflammation is one and you would need some up to date blood test results to compare with the fibroscan. If you have inflammation in the liver then fibroscan can't tell the difference between inflammation and actual fibrous changes.

Your BMI, whether you've eaten/fasted before the scan and numerous other factors can affect accuracy. I note the IQR is at 30% - this is the tool which medics use to determine whether the data set is to be relied upon and less than 30% is the desired figure.

Have your GP appointment and be totally honest about drinking frequency and amounts and take it from there. Things may not be as bad as the fibroscan says but it is potentially unlikely you've got a fully heathy liver either so it needs some care and attention.
