It's been a good while since I've posted. Well a lot has happened, I finalized my divorce, a few years ago took 3 years -yikes!! My question is i went Thursday to liver specialist I've was doing great so good in fact I sort of put my liver on back burner. I have stage 4 cirrhosis with me k d score of 8! What concerns me is being advised I have stage 3 varies!

Anybody deal with this? I feel sure it's probably the natural progression of this disease! Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated!

To add I've gained 30/lbs making me feel horrible! 1-1/2 years ago I had some set-backs breaking my hand & a pinky finger didn't thing much did surgery had rods & pens put in, totally believed It was going to be 100% joke on me!!! It threw me into depression work was super slow added to more depression 🫥. Fast forward 3 years I'm feeling almost back to myself. I have cirrhosis due to 5 blood transfusions blood was mad leading to hep C undetected for 25-30 years.

O have not drank since 2010.

So that not an issue!

Besides mo or low salt diet is there anything else that can be done? For the varices?

What has worked your you all or family?

Have you been put on a beta blocker to reduce portal hypertension? Something like carvedilol or propanolol would be treatments for to reduce portal veinous pressure.

Probably nothing more you can do as regards diet to reduce it but obviously keeping a healthy weight and eating properly to maintain muscle mass etc. is also essential.

Have they spoken about potentially banding your varices to prevent them bursting? Good idea to keep an eye out for signs of possible bleeding i.e. fresh blood in your stools or black tarry stools and any blood from the mouth - any sign of bleeding would be an emergency situation.
