chronic itching with boil like spots on head & neck

morning all, my brother was diagnosed with end stage decompensated Cirohsis with other complications back in January 2022. For the last month he has had chronic itching with boil like spots on his head & neck. He’s only sleeping for an hour at a time. Has very limited mobility & has turned off all heating as its worse when he’s warm. Paramedic visited yesterday & took photos to show the doctor, promising some help to relieve symptoms today. The surgery is closed until Monday & it’s driving him mad.

Has anyone else experienced this?

itching is very common with liver disease. He will need some medication that will help relieve the symptoms but he will need to see his GP or Heptologist asap go have this prescribed.

In the meantime you can get over the counter creams that can help such as Dermacool or E45 itch cream. Also try cold ice packs, baths etc

hi when this happened to me I would take 2 antihistamine before bed it also is fine for your liver
