my previous posts will show you have symptoms of liver disease, normal bloods so waiting for ultrasound..
don’t drink alcohol not on any meds but looking for all the suggestions to aid/ help my liver heal/recover/ flourish. Although struggling as I don’t know the cause so can’t abstain from whatever the issue is! AIH negative too.
Not taking trying anything herbal and don’t plan to, also not taking vitamins till the ultrasound for reduced stress on liver.
diet: eating Mediterranean, small regular meals, more fibre fruit veg, removed all processed sugar.
workout:
30x 3 min workouts a week
30 min walk every day
Wish I could do more workout n muscle training but not possible with two toddlers yet
sleep:
Trying to sleep earlier and throughout the night but sleep is disturbed because of anxiety .. I get myself together and put a brave face on and then I’ll see dark urine or blotchy hands & although I had normal stools now the colour is slightly changing so it does trigger me momentarily till I remind myself I need to focus on healing - so I am trying my best to minimise stress.
castor oil packs: happy to do those as it’s external so think it’s beneficial
anything else I could do in the meantime to aid my liver recovery/ healing
Anything anyone has been told by hepatologist?
thank you!

In the absence of any current liver disease diagnosis it sounds like you are doing sensible things to give your body some TLC. There is no miracle cure for liver disease and certainly nothing you can 'take' to ease it but in the absence of any obvious symptoms or risk factors it sounds like you are doing the sensible thing in just giving your body that little extra care.
Hopefully your scan isn't too far away. It would be helpful for you to stress a little less ...... I know easier said than done but stress isn't good for your liver and can lead to physical symptoms around your body.
Thank you, letter still hasn’t come through for ultrasound it’s been a month, but telling myself this gives me more opportunity to better my liver before the US so hopefully a better outcome,
Yes I agree I need to try not to stress but somehow the waiting period feels the worst to me, hoping I get to the bottom of whatever is going on and it is treatable
Hi Just read this and your previous posts. Hwhen you say you have "normal bloods"have you had your iron levels checked? If not you need to ask for a full iron panel. Some of your symptoms, liver issues, libido problems and hair loss can all be attributed to genetic haemochromatosis (GH) or iron overload. I'm not saying that it is this, it is only a possibility, but with your symptoms you should be checked. No need to panic over this, there is a very effective treatment, the key thing is early diagnosis. Here is the British Liver Trust information page britishlivertrust.org.uk/in...
Hi, thanks for your response, I’ve had a full iron panel, and everything is normal within range, last year I did have ferritin of 8 and that’s improved since so if anything I’m on the lower side never had iron over load, thanks for suggestions
hello - sorry that you are struggling - I found mostly that hepatologists I have seen are focussed on bloods/ scans (which is understandable) so anything else is someone else’s problem. This doesn’t help the person who is suffering.
While medical stuff is ongoing, you might want to look at things to help you sleep - even small improvements can benefit you through the day. For example, the Sleepio programme (available via the NHS in the UK) was really helpful at getting some stability when I had a really bad period this year. I learned some useful techniques (it is a CBT-based programme) that I can apply during the day to sometimes take the edge off the screaming anxiety that is my mind.
Another thing to try to get peace is yoga nidra (non-sleep deep relaxation) - lots on YouTube. I use it almost daily and sometimes fall asleep halfway through.
These things might not be for you but please do have a look - every little helps!
