Hi, I'm really sorry if this is not the correct place to post but I'm stressing myself out and hoping someone can put me at ease. A few weeks ago I had a fibro scan done as part of a liver study, it came back as low risk for fibrosis which is great, I have Alcohol Related Steatosis of the Liver but nowt to worry about. I also had lots of bloods taken and some of the results seem high but no one has talked me through them but they wrote to Dr said all is ok and just to make lifestyle changes. Today 2 More have come back, my gastric parietal cell titre is 300 and my gastric parietal cell serum is positive. Also my type 3 pro collagen n peptide is 5.0. probably nowt I should be worried about but my health has been very bad since the start of the year and I'm worried something is being missed. Anyway sorry for rambling on x
Blood results : Hi, I'm really sorry if... - British Liver Trust
Blood results
Whoever ordered these tests should tell you why they have ordered them, what they were looking for and what the results actually mean.
The first two tests appear to be related to the stomach area and can test for things like pernicious anaemia, various vitamin deficiences, Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection, changes to the stomach lining and more. The latter test is about fibrosity but as a lay person I have no experience in interpretation of any of these results.
As I say you definitely need an explanation from whoever ordered the tests.
If you have alcohol related fatty liver then obviously alcohol cessation is a must as fatty liver combined with elevated bloods can lead on to fibrosis. Did you get the scores from your fibroscan? kPa is the level of tissue density/presence of fibrosis. CAP is the degree of fatty change in the liver.

Thanks for replying Katie, all the bloods were done as part of the liver test. Thankfully my scores were very low - non-invasive Liver Fibrosis AssessmentUltrasound: Mild Fatty Liver 2022
Fibroscan Today : 2.2 kPa IQR/Med 8 % CAP 268
FIB-4: 0.51
As the bloods were done as part of the study I don't know who to contact for an explanation.
Who was doing this liver test and what is the study? None of those bloods you mentioned are routine in liver screening.
Your fibroscan looks good as regards fibrosity. In the S2 grade for fatty liver though so over 30% of your liver showing fatty change.
You mention that you've been unwell since the start of the year so what investigations are happening with regards to that.
Katie
It was part of some study the NHS are doing into liver disease. They took lots of bloods. Is S2 something I should worry about?
