Hi all. I'm wondering if you can give me any insight! I was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis in December 2023. I'm now doing great, liver compensated and i feel better than I've done in years. My bloods show my ALP score is 142, which is still high. Obviously this is dramatically lower than it was this time last year. However I'm still worried about it. Should it not be a lot lower by now? And is there anything I can to to reduce it further? Thanks so much for any advice you can give me xx
Alp score: Hi all. I'm wondering if you... - British Liver Trust

None of your posts indicate what the underlying cause was for your cirrhosis - ALP is commonly associated with biliary issues/bile duct etc.
Hi, it's alcohol and medication x
What does your lab state as a normal range - some go from 44 - 147 others might use 30 -120 (others may used a different range again). Yours is not that high to be scary.
Just relax and keep doing what you are doing. Be patient. Your number is just a teeny bit above what it needs to be. Sleep well, don't stress, keep doing what you are doing and you will be fine. Good luck.
Hello
All the acronyms used on this site really confuse me - what is ALP?
Cecelia
Alkaline Phosphatase - one of the liver inflammation markers, commonly associated with more biliary issues in liver. (Can also be linked with bone issues)
A few years ago I made a thread with a Glossary of Acronyms commonly used on forum and you can find this at:- healthunlocked.com/britishl...
