I read somewhere (can't remember where at the moment), that there are higher cut-off values for people with a BMI greater than 30. For example, where a CAP score of 260 is the cut-off separating S1 (mild fatty liver) from S2 (moderate fatty liver), for obese people (over 30 BMI) the same cut-off is approximately 290. Has anyone else heard this?
Thanks,
Terr

Just read a paper about a study into whether higher cut of values are required in Morbidly Obese people but haven't seen anything set in stone about higher values.
Take it as read you have what you have and it needs dealt with regardless of what score you've been given and where it lies on the scale. Healthy diet and some increase in exercise are key going forwards.
Well, I would, except that the report said I had no steatosis. It had me at S0, even though my CAP was 268. Btw, I'm not morbidly obese. I'm 5' 10" , 215 lbs, with a BMI of 30. 30 is the cut-off between overweight and obese.
Because previous ultrasounds reported that I had mild fatty liver and because my GI doc said he saw signs of portal gastropathy when he did a gasttoscopy in July.
