Had First Liver Consultant Appointment.

Hi

I was seen today at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary regarding my 'probable cirrhosis' diagnosis and it was encouraging news which I wanted to share. They were very kind, as I went in quite teary and upset. They did a Fibroscan and it's gone from 29.7 (very high) in February down to 11. The consultant said my diagnosis is alcohol related liver disease with fibrosis and not cirrhosis and to keep up the good work of abstinence which I will of course do.

Am so grateful for this forum and BLT who have been a great support.

Great news, glad you had a favourable outcome and that your lifestyle changes have improved matters for you. Hope you found the Edinburgh team as good as I said.

Katie :)
