Could the discovery of a simple liver cyst explain why I have suffered with fatigue and cyclical night sweats for the last 20 years? And if so, can this be treated?
I'm have a consultation with my GP later this week but I wondered if anyone else has had the same experience?

I am exactly the same. Night sweats have been so bad I feel ill the next day, drained and feel sick. i get so hot I feel like if I get any hotter I will pass out and just as I get to that point my temperature drops and I feel cold. This goes on all night. Menopause was blamed but HRT didn't help. The only thing that did was when I had to take antibiotics for 3 weeks for an infection on my leg. The sweats stopped! Then gradually came back again. I have asked if it's connected but can't get any answers. I have now been diagnosed with a very large simple cyst and waiting for it to be removed. Consultants are not interested in my night sweats, so I am waiting to see if after my operation they will go away. Good luck
Ah very interesting to hear your account. Seems very similar to me. Thank you. Wishing you all the best with your operation. Hope it helps with your symptoms.
Hi have they told you the size of the cyst? I have one measuring 19cm and the consultant will only remove it if I complain about pain. If I bend the wrong way it hurts but otherwise it’s just distended my stomach making it uncomfortable to wear bras and I have virtually no waist now. Good luck with the op
Mine is 12cm and so get what you say about the bra. I get pain similar to gallstones and my stomach can swell so I look like I am about to have twins. If I turn my body to the left it all pulls and hurts on the right. It's taken a year of poking and prodding but I am now on the list for the op. I would push to have the thing out. Why should you have to live like that x
I would perhaps press your doctors to exclude an infection in the bone of the leg, or indeed at some other site.. Such infections can be difficult to detect, and whilst the antibiotics would help temporarily, they would not treat a deeper bone infection.
