good news on fibroscan

after worrying about my husband’s fibroscan today, all went well.

He was told he has no scarring on his liver and just a little bit of fat (she said to be expected with almost 79 year old).

Re his high blood reading (ELF 9.8) the grapher also said that levels can fluctuate and his one high reading was probably just a one-off.

No further action needed and no referral needed. Phew!

UPDATE:

Hubby finally received his fibroscan feedback today.

“A little bit of fatty liver”was in fact 67%!!

His kPa was 6.4 (placing him in the F0 category and low risk of fibrosis)

Steatosis score CAP 298 dB/m (placing him in the S3 category). Although from what I’ve researched that should be S2 category.

He’s been told to try and reduce his alcohol consumption. (We like our nightly glass of wine)

He is almost 79 and has a chronic degenerative spine condition so he doesn’t seem particularly worried about his liver tbh.

It could be much worse…
