Hi everyone. Hope you are all well. I have Cirrhosis of the liver and after a review with my consultant 2 weeks ago we stopped my spironolactone. Everything seemed fine, kept and eye on weight as was told and between Saturday and Sunday I suddenly gained 4 pounds. On Friday I had root canal treatment and my tooth got infected so my face ballooned. Have saw my dentist and on an antibiotic ( though face still puffy) . I have tried to touch base with my team with no avail , which I already know there extremely busy. I feel physically and emotionally 100 percent otherwise. Doing my daily duties as normal. I’m not on the transplant list and my meld is 57, does fluid build up that quick and then stop? Or Is it down to my tooth canal ? Any advice would be grateful.

Dear Meanies
This is a question that your own health care professional is best placed to answer, as only they have access to your medical records.
We suggest you keep trying to reach the team and talking this through with your own doctor or health care professional in the first instance.
If you are in the UK and would find it useful to talk things over, our nurse-led helpline is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm on 0800 652 7330 (excluding bank holidays)
Best wishes
