Tumour not visible on CT, there on US & partial there on MRI with contrast

hello.

Liver mass 3cm picked up on ultrasound after nasty case of glandular fever, followed by a CT which showed nothing and now an MRI with contrast where it could only be seen on some of the images. I have to have another MRI with a different contrast now but they said they’d never seen this happen before. I’m now terrified it’s going to be a rare type of cancer… anybody else had this happen to them? I’m 40, no liver disease (just mildly fatty which is now the least of my problems lol).

Hi! I keep fingers crossed for you! Hopefully the next MRI will be okay! It could still be nothing. When is your next MRI?

Thanks… it’s 24th Sept although I’m also on the cancellation list so could be sooner. I think I might be more worried than they are but when you hear ‘we’ve never had this before my head tends to go to the worst case scenario’. Thanks for replying.

Yes! I can understand it, I’m just like you, always thinking of the worst. It’s hard to let it go. Those things always whirl in my mind until they are finally resolved. Though so far all of those bad things (mostly poor blood results) always ended up well for me. I hope this will be the case for you too😉
