Does anyone know why dry heaving can help with nausea.
I have read the general, non liver specific, reasons why it helps., but I wonder what, specific to liver illness, symptoms causes nausea that dry heaving relieves? Any thoughts. Thanks.

Hi,I don't have an answer, but am experiencing this symptom and also find dry heaving helps to alleviate the nausea.
After a bowel resection surgery 2 years ago, I developed portal vein thrombosis. I was on Eloquis for about 9 months.
Now I am getting some symptoms that leads me to believe the thrombosis is hurting my liver: occasional nausea and clay colored stools.
I have had dried heaving but not been sick not for a long time now which I’m pleased about cause I hate being sick, I think its your body saying you might be sick, but your not, I sip water for sip ginger tea to help take the feeling away, cause it’s not a nice feeling, sorry not much help
Hope it goes away soon, take care
Aww I’m glad its gone, but I do know what you mean about relating everything to your liver, I had a pain like thing in the belly and upper area straight away omg it’s me liver, then my friend said what a minute didn’t you go to gym the other day and do some exercises, awww yeah and now it’s gone . Stay well x
