Follow up appointment cancelled!

Hi folks,

I've been waiting on liver biopsy results for 4 weeks now, my follow up appointment for October has been cancelled!

Does that mean i will receive another appointment asking me to go in earlier?

I'm so worried!

If you have contact details for the consultant who ordered your biopsy I would be tempted to get in touch with them to see what the situation is with regards to the cancelled appointment (sometimes it's done automatically by the appointments office without doctors being aware). You obviously need this appointment to discuss your biopsy results as obviously a wait till October was already unreasonable considering the circumstances of them ordering a biopsy etc.

If you can't get through on the phone then write a letter, if no joy with that then utilize whatever patient advisory service (PALS or similar) that your hospital has.

Hi Katie,

The appointment was cancelled by the Medical Secretary.

I'm waiting to hear from Pals but in my experience it takes 3/4 weeks for them to get in touch.

Search for the Dr on doctify.com

If listed there will be contact details for his PA on there.
