Is he not under the care of a dietician? Just a bit of toast is totally insufficient to keep hubby properly nourished and he will start fading. I would definitely contact GP or his liver specialist. Maybe they can prescribe him some protein/carb/complete nourishment supplements.

He is under the care of a dietician and was given fortisips but he doesn't take them .he has no real appetite but up till a few days ago he managed to eat something most days.

I know that the last couple of months prior to hubby having his transplant he couldn't eat any physical food at all BUT he was able to tolerate his 7 supplement drinks a day and that sustained him sufficiently.

Do you have any help from GP as regards palliative care as I know they've ruled out transplant. He doesn't sound like he is in a great way.

Have you seen the BLT page on Planning for the Future as it might provide some pointers. britishlivertrust.org.uk/in...

Thinking of you both.
