I went to the GP today to discuss concerns about drinking. I’ve cut down significantly but am concerned about having already done irreversible damage. Historically my results have always been normal (last blood test in March). She said that if gamma-gt is normal, cirrhosis is unlikely, but did say I had an enlarged liver by 1-2 cm from what she felt, but did also say that just be my normal size. My question for folks is about the gamma-gt thing - is it unlikely to be normal with cirrhosis?

Good morning- I’m sorry I can’t answer your question as I have no experience of this aspect of liver disease. However, just wanted to say a huge well done to you for addressing your relationship with alcohol. You’ve taken a huge step forward…..good luck on your journey x
