anxious and scared
Try not to worry too much. He’s got some elevated scores and is therefore needing further investigations. The specialist will help determine to what extent his liver is damaged. Luckily for us all, livers are incredibly resilient and have a huge capacity to regenerate and with the right treatment then there can be a good outcome. The one thing he will need to do though is to get some help with his drinking and either cut it out completely or reduce to safe consumption levels. If he’s been drinking heavily for a while he will need support to do this. The specialist will be able to advise him on this. Wait to see what the specialist says overall about his condition before jumping to conclusions. Hopefully he’ll get seen soon.
thank you so much for replying i appreciate it . what should his scored be i know they are high but dont know if they are seriously high? x
I’m not really qualified to answer that as I’m not a doctor. The GP will have made a decision based on the results to get a more specialised opinion. So they will be elevated for them to do that. The specialist will want to explore further and come to a conclusion…so it’s best to wait to hear what they say. Scores are indicators not a final diagnosis and that’s why the GP will want more advice on how to treat.
try not to worry it’s really early days high bloods can easily be put right with a healthy lifestyle cutting down drink if he not got any symptoms yet of liver damage you be alright good luck
