Try and calm down, there is no good in fretting over what you don't know or what hasn't been confirmed yet. I take it you have no liver disease symptoms and this has come out of the blue. If the high reading is due to fatty liver disease you may still have a chance to turn it around so concentrate on that just now, get into a healthy eating and exercise routine. It is the best way of reversing any 'potential' liver disease and certainly as a way to help prevent it getting worse.

Try and stop googling, until doctors have got the full picture you are just guessing and googling will always bring up worst case scenario so try and stop. You've found the best site here and the BLT main website, cease all the others. Until doctors confirm what you are dealing with just get on with life with any small lifestyle changes you can possibly make in the meantime and whilst waiting for your follow up appointments.

I know things have changed in that you now know there may be some sort of issue (what has still to be formally established). However in real terms nothing has changed, you had this going on before you know about it the only difference is you now know about it. All you can do at the moment is take some positive steps to look after your liver as best you can. One positive is that this has been discovered and hopefully before it is causing you any major issues.

My hubbies first clue that he had liver disease was vomiting loads of blood one night, turning an awful shade of greeny/yellow and being admitted to high dependency in hospital to be told by the way you have cirrhosis. Completely out of the blue and a total shock and at that stage potentially life threatening. 8 years on he is stable, few major symptoms and living the best life his damaged liver allows him to do. It isn't all doom and gloom even if you find you have got liver damage.

Try and stay strong as you await your appointment.

Hi Sydney my fibro scan score was 75 the highest it can go and I was told I have cirrhosis the scores can differ most time I am not I doctor but your score of 12 with experience and information I got was from specialist 12 usually means 9 times out of 10 your liver is fatty which can be reversible so I wouldn't worry if you had cirrhosis you would of known by now I hope my information helps and I wish you well

Yours kindly Gx

First cessation of life due to organ failure, more specifically the liver failure can happen before you're even aware of it. In life we are all born into differently able societal structures most of whom couldn't even afford a basic treatment. You're obviously belong to a very privileged class of the top 10-20 percent of the world that could afford diagnosis and treatment and its scares you now. For most of the human history humans have died for less than to chicken out on something like potential liver failure yet. With full authority over your life and your choices you have the right to be scared of something that may kill you a mere 20-30 years in advance. But what difference would you make by being alive for all those years is what would count in the long run.

I am not sure where you are in the world Valar. But, in the UK we have had a free at the point of need health care system called the National Health Service since 1948 - no one pays any fees to be treated here (it's funded by central Government via National Insurance Contributions taken like a tax from employee wages) but no one actually pays for appointments, tests , surgery etc. In some parts of the UK we don't even pay for our prescription medication though in England they still do - a fixed fee per item.

We are very, very fortunate and our NHS is a thing we treasure greatly.

Where ever youre at now.. most likely thats as bad as it gets depending on your actions. But u gotta make the changes necessary then you can only improve from there

Hi Sydney as Ayrshire has said try to stop googling about the condition as that will only add to the worry always talk to your doctor even about how you are feeling at the moment as that's what they are there for.

You have done the right thing posting your worries this is a great site where the members support each other and welcome new members and do care I don't post very often but I am often reading new posts and no matter what the support for members is second to none.

All my best Colin
