out of interest when did the nhs start screening patients for this on the nhs ?

I don't know when they started but I've been diagnosed with chronic HepB for two years now and it's always been part of my surveillance testing.

One of the risks of cirrhosis is there's a higher incidence of HCC because of the changes in the liver.NHS have always screened liver patients for HCC and the 6 monthly check ups are mostly for HCC surveillance, not for checking if cirrhosis is worsening.

Thank you - I suppose that’s why they take the bloods to check for deterioration.
