Hi all, I have been a lurker on this wonderful forum for about 61/2 years when I was diagnosed with alcohol related disease. Only symptoms were ascites and weight loss, about 3st. 8 litres were drained from abdomen at that time and I have never had any liquid build up since then. I am completely compensated and have been for 61/2 years. My fibrosis test 61/2 year ago was 22, two months later down to 16. Just had my 6 monthly scan and bloods and everything is fine. They also gave me a fibrosis test at my request, has been over 6 years, I thought maybe bit of luck might be down from 16, or just the same. No it was 40!, couldn't understand how it could jump up so much with compensated liver, nurse said don't worry fibrosis is not used as a diagnostic tool, ct scan and bloods are, but she will mention to consultant. I'm not sure if I should be a bit worried about this, I take medicines, one aspirin 75mg,ferrous fumarate 210mg isorbridw 20mg metaformin 500mg , omeprazole, simavastin 40mg, don't know if they might be culprits, also diabetes 2, sorry for long rant

I think if you have your diagnosis - compensated liver cirrhosis, fibroscan result does not matter that much.
I am not medically qualified but you might want to query with GP and consultant as aspirin is an NSAID and like ibuprofen is not usually recommended for people with liver disease.
Some people with a fibroscan score of 16 will be severely ill and in need of a transplant and some with a score of 40 will appear Totaly healthy.Numbers don't mean anything (much) and all we need to be concerned about is our livers doing a good enough job to keep serious symptoms away.
Plus a fibroscan only tests a small % of the liver (think it's around 1/500th of the liver) so if it's aimed at a dodgy or extra good area the results vary.
Biopsy tests an even smaller area and the only accurate way is to slice your liver up and closely inspect it, of course that means your dead but it's accurate😳.
