Drug induced liver injury

Hi , I don’t know where to start , does anyone know if liver damage can not show up on blood tests ? I stupidly was taking to many paracetamols over the course of a month (staggered paracetamol overdose ) ? I am terrified I have damaged my liver so far. I’ve had two blood tests which have come back normal range, but I’m really not feeling very well, I’m so worried I have caused liver damage.

Hello,

Others will no doubt help you on this more, but blood results will show how well your liver is functioning, so if they're OK that's really good news for you.

Take care

Trusting your Dr's will help you a lot. They've not been through years of training for nothing! 🤗 It is worrying sometimes, but Liver problems are very easy to spot with fairly routine bloods. Even of you had damaged your liver, it's not showing in your bloods so that's fantastic. The best chance you can give your Liver now is to focus on eating healthily, don't drink or take toxic substances and keep fit! Health scares help us to appreciate our lives more, so try and focus on that 😊 The helpline for the British Liver Trust will be able to advise you.

Thank you for your reply . I’m just so worried because I have so many new symptoms and now today I have been told on a urine dip stick test I have blood showing in my urine 😩 and I am worried that if i have caused damage due to drug induced injury this could be chronic and cause my liver to fail over the next few weeks months years and may not show up on tests yet , I’m just so worried . Sorry to go on again 😩 x

You need to discuss this with your Gp or someone. Blood in urine would be more likely a simple urine infection but I'm not medically trained and you need to speak to someone that is about this. And don't google- so much is inaccurate information, it will play havoc with your mind. Hope you feel better soon.Ewife

Thank you . I will speak to the GP . I think Google has been making me feel a lot worse about every thing I must admit . Thank you for taking the time to reply to me . I do really appreciate it. Jenni x
