About 6 years ago I had some a full set of blood tests done and 3 years later I had more of which I was told that my LFTs were deranged and that they could t understand why the previous Doctor didn’t raise any concerns as my ALT levels were over 1200 and my AST in high hundreds. This time the enzymes being of similar levels She sent me to a gastroenterologist and after a FIBROSCAN was told pretty much that they would keep an eye on it. Eventually my LFTs went back to pretty much normal but Dec last year they came back deranged again alt being 990 and ast 360 and bilirubin around 3.1 although I don’t think I had jaundice. My ferritin levels were over 500. I was sent to a specialist again and had an ultrasound which didn’t find anything of note, then a biopsy of which the pathologist said the samples were characteristic of AIH. Being quite rare especially in men the consultant seemed wary as my ASM was only very slightly elevated. Now my alt levels have dropped to in the 90s he doesn’t seem to be in a rush to see me. I had a MRCP nearly 2 weeks ago and when I asked the hospital they just said that an appointment (booked before the MRCP by consultant) would be to tell me the results alas it’s for the middle of November. So frustrating when you think you might be getting somewhere. My nausea is really affecting me as well as fatigue

and other things.
