I recently about (4th August) posted on the above topic. I thought I was going into hospital to have fluid drained.

To those that replied, sorry for the delay! I will be reading and responding over the next few days, but in the meantime, thanks to all of you, you are a great source of support and reassurance. I wanted to let you wonderful, helpful, people to know "what happened next..."

Well, I didn't have a drain put in, they said the fluid was in little patches. Though apparently I am carrying 8-10 kg excess fluid, which isn't comfortable, in general I didn't feel too bad.

Clearly though, the medics were very worried on my behalf, as I was kept in for 11 days and only just got home this evening. I had an ultrascound, and an x-ray, had blood tests every day and had urine tests also. Apparently I have a kidney injury, and possibly "nephrotic kidney." They kept me in, planning to do a kidney biopsy, but the local NHS specialist hospital couldn't accommodate me immediately, (maybe done in 3-4 weeks) so they are going to be monitoring me as an outpatient until then. I am going back for more bloodtests later this week-- if no worse I can stay out of hospital, if not staying same or improving, I will have to go back in again.

Anyone had similar experience? Love to you all.
