Calling all biology boffins!!My husband would like to know where the fluid built up in his legs goes when he raises them 🙂 Obviously it drains out of the legs, but where then? Does it make his ascites worse? Or is it eventually urinated out??We are looking at getting a sleeping aid so that he can sleep with them raised - but he wants to know that this would definately help.
He is on a stronger dose of dueretics now, but has had this problem for 3 years so we're looking at it as more than a temporary issue.

It goes back towards the heart and core of body and goes back into circulation round the body. Found and NHS leaflet all about managing it etc. which may be useful. smn.scot.nhs.uk/wp-content/...
Thank you, he's had this right from when he was first diagnosed. Medication keeps it stable but it's never gone completely. Recently they have increased his meds as it did get worse, thankfully so far his body is tolerating the increase of meds ok.I hope you get some relief soon.
