liver ast/alt

Good day,

i recently got Bloodwork done. My billirubine was raised 71u/mol and AST 81. My ALT was 25, GGT normal and ALP also. I was a binge drinker for 15 years. Never drank daily. My fear is cirrhosis, with the ast alt ratio. Have had 2 ultrasounds that were complete normal and 1 MRI with out contrast fluid that was complete normal.

My platlets we all good. Is my fear reasonable or with the 3 imaging test i could State that cirrhosis isnt there?

If 2 ultrasounds and MRI are normal you’re probably fine. The increased AST may be from inflammation. Stop drinking and get tested again in a few months and hopefully all will be back to normal.

Thank you. Before my test i didnt drink for 2,5 weeks. After that i got tested 3 times more but in the Netherlands they cut out AST for liver enzymes because its not liver speficic. My billirubin stayed elevated but lowered. I got diagnosed with Gilberts Syndrome. But i still was worried about the Ratio AST ALT. Didnt drink since 18th of december 2022.
