Liver nurse

Hi I was wondering what the liver nurse does .

Mostly gives advice and refers you to a Dr if she thinks you need medical intervention.

Prob.more than the drs. In the states everything is so specialized, they know there little piece. Nurse s much more rounded.

First appointment with Claire was to follow up from seeing the consultant.

To do blood works , to discuss any problems I might be having especially with the meds.

Claire arranged for a bone density test, and a ECG.

Claire pulled all the stops to get my Azathioprine 25 & 50 mg lactose free.

What is lactose for

I’m lactose intolerant and nearly all medication has lactose.

Because I have to take a lot of meds it’s a no no for me

When I say nearly all medication has lactose I meant tablets as lactose is used as a binding agent in tablets

I have been on for a while but I normally just read the different way we are been treated by our care team and doctors depending on where we live.

I find it quite shocking,
