Hi I had a blockage in the portal vain and ended up having to take warfarin and getting checked every week to ether up or down my medication to keep my INR stable. All I can do is wish you good luck.
I’m wondering if there’s a noninvasive way to measure it and if you don’t have ascites or varices, could you still have portal hypertension ? Wouldn’t it be important to know that? Seems like it should be part of the tests done if you have liver disease, since this is what causes all the serious problems.

They propose spleen stiffness as a way to comparatively measure portal hypertension. I don’t know if any additional studies have been done or if any doctors use this. I haven’t heard of such.
