My last post was me asking what does it mean when your AFP bloods are elevated, as I was told (following a routine blood test for my liver disease) that they were and I was to have a CT scan. This week, I have been told there is a 1cm growth that has been found on the CT scan and that it is currently suspected early staged HCC. I'm having an MRI this week coming where I guess it will either confirm or not.
I'm not even sure what I'm asking in the post tbh. I just feel like I needed to say what has been going on.

Hi BumbleCatAFP is a marker that is elevated in cancers!
The fact that a small growth has been found would indicate it could be HCC as you mentioned!
There is excellent new treatments out now for HCC tumours that can actually cure them so although this isn't the best of news right now the fact that there is good treatments out there right now might reassure you!
If you would find it useful to talk things over, our nurse-led helpline is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm on 0800 652 7330 (excluding bank holidays)
Awww Bumblecat you should never have to feel like that!!This is a big shock for you and of course your anxiety would be high when your told this news!
At this time you absolutely need someone qualified to ease your mind and possibly talk about potential treatments!
The only thing I can say is HCC treatments have gotten to the point of a cure in many people so hopefully you will be one of those people who benefit from this!
this must be a very scary time for you but whatever the diagnosis they have caught it very very early and there will be a whole raft of treatment options. Take care x
