Really annoyed at Liverpool Royal at the mo, my partner was diagnosed with ascites 4 weeks ago through ultrasound, been waiting on ct scan to see what's going on, only to get a call fron hospital to say it should have been today 11th...but we didn't receive no letter/text/email The hospital said quite a few people never got contacted 😠..so now more worry , God knows how long it'll be now...hope its not another 4 weeks, sorry for the rant, but we don't know what to do? No ones given us advice abt "Ascites " don't know anything, just left to get on with it....I'm so annoyed, sorry for the rant guys....hope not waiting to long again....xx

Hi Scousepets,

Sorry to hear the Hospital are messing up Liverpool University Hospitals are supposed to be excellent in terms of Liver related illness. I'd ring as suggested your partners consultants secretary. Does your husband take medication for anything else liver related ie lactulose or rifaximin?

I suppose through my newly gained knowledge because of my husband with ascites if it gets painful or unmanageable you need to ring Hospital so they can look at draining if diuretics prescribed ie spironolactone not working.

Sorry I can't be more help 😔 but I'd ring the consultants secretary or failing that the gastro ward your husband has previously been on if he's been hospitalised due to his liver condition.

Best of Luck

I’m so sorry you’re going through that - I know the NHS are stretched right now, but really, how long does it take to send an email or text?
