Hi all, it's been a long time since I was on here - hope everyone is OK.
My husband was diagnosed with cirrhosis in Oct 2019 and has been really well until recently. He saw his GP for a general check up recently and they said he has a hernia - he has an appt tomorrow in hospital to look at what he can do with this.
He also has gallstones which have started to cause him pain every few weeks or so. Tonight he has been in pain for a few hours and couldn't eat anything. When he tried to have a cup of tea he ended up wretching and threw up a small amount of watery liquid.
He didn't want to speak to anyone but I made him speak to 111 who basically said to speak to his GP tomorrow.
I just wanted to check if this is something that he should see his GP about or should he contact his liver consultant? I'm not sure if the gallstones and hernia are connected with his cirrhosis. Any advice?

hi, I suffer with gallstones, he would need to speak to GP and a referral to upper GI for ultrasound. I have fibrosis and a condition called bile acid malabsorption as I don’t produce good quality bile which then affects the gallbladder and bowel.
Sorry you suffer with this too. Hubby was being sick all through the night, its not pleasant. He's seeing the GP this afternoon so will see what they say.
Afraid I don't know about gallstones, but I recently had a repair for an inguinal hernia (the most common) and was completed unrelated to my cirrhosis.
