Hiya name is linz I haven't posted before but read alot on here.

Does anyone have any experience of zieve syndrome? I've recently been diagnosed. Alot of it makes sense but I'm struggling to understand

I have been sober 6 months now and thought you only experienced zieve on a short term basis

TIA for any replies

Yes as well as cramps nausea, muscle weakness, breathing difficulties. The list could go on forever Fatigue is the worst.

Same here and I've not been diagnosed yet, apart from a fatty liver.

I get both of those and pain around the liver area and muscle cramps in the legs and arms, nausea, chest pain, and high blood pressure, and wake up shivering in the mornings after after a really bad night's sleep

And bad flatulance and diarrhea.

I was diagnosed with decompensated ALD 3 years ago but I only found out about the zieve last week I have loads of symptoms that impact my life on a daily basis

It's pretty crazy to be honest.

I was diagnosed with a fatty liver last may or June when I had a ultrasound, but things have got a lot worse since then I've got chronic pain everywhere, a GP who thinks it's all in my mind and won't even refer to gastroenterologist and my partner thinks there's nothing wrong with me because of what the doctor said, I reckon I have had decompensated ARD for around 2 year's I can hardly walk now.

Don't give up. Be firm with the GP and assert your rights to get the help you need. Liver disease is one of an invisible illnesses that others don't understand.A damaged Liver is like a car with no engine the body can't function as it should.

Hi Linz, I’ve never heard of Zieve syndrome - it’s not even on the BLT website. It sounds as if it’s quite rare so no wonder you’re struggling to understand. I’d suggest ringing the BLT helpline for some advice on where to find out more.
