I have recently been diagnosed with a fatty liver and now moderating my alcohol intake. I am to have a follow up blood test in 6 months but wondered if I could get a private fibroscan for my own use somewhere close to Huddersfield? I have had an ultrasound and blood tests on the NHS in my diagnosis but the doc didn't give me any figures to give me a better idea other than my fatty liver was at the wrong end but short of hepatitis

Private Fibroscan West Yorkshire?
Same here, had a ultrasound which said fatty liver but my doctor won't send me for a fibroscan and I think you need your GP to refer you private or nhs
First off, if you have NHS records, you have EVERY right to ask for them and don't be fobbed off. I had no problem in gaining print outs of my bloods and scans from my local surgery.
I had an ultrasound on the NHS and it was normal, because I was freaked out, I went for Fibroscan in 2016. I went to the London Clinic and had full bloods and Fibroscan, all good, 4.2 kpa on the Fibroscan after decades of alcohol abuse. I had to get the train down and Fibroscan takes like 5 mins ! Cost about £400 all in.
Hi thereThe British Liver Trust, Love your Liver roadshow tour the country each year with a mobile scanning unit where you can get great advice and support, and if need / relevant a fibroscan for free. They do great work . Check out there website for upcoming venues and dates this year. Bound to be one fairly local to you. Take care.
