Blah blah!!!

I'm starting to feel like my batteries are draining and I don't seem to be able to recharge them. I keep plodding on as you do but what is the point. I have no benefits anymore because my partner is working all the hours he can to compensate, therefore I spend my time with my animals on my bill. I'm worried that we won't have the rent and I have to pay out for travel to Birmingham. I know we are all struggling in different ways so sorry to moan.

Hi Charlie-legs. Have you had a financial review with Citizens Advice? They can examine your situation and see what benefits you can claim. There have been changes that mean various benefits have non-means tested areas. CAB will point you in the right direction and can help with application.

As regards transplant and transport costs there is potential help with that too. transplantpatientstrust.org...

Best wishes,

Katie

Katie and Rusty....hello.I was receiving pip for Epilepsy and mental health issues but after I was diagnosed with cancer the macmillian nurse filled in a change of circumstances form. I went to the interview and got a reply saying that I no longer qualify. Another chap from mm has helped me to appeal.

CAB say I am only entitled to £1.04 UC.😲 my other half is working so many hours so I am alone all the time. Not much fun....sorry to moan xxx😎

Hi Charlie, have Citizens Advice offered to help you appeal the PIP decision? A high proportion of appeals succeed. There’s probably a time limit so I’d ask them quickly.

It’s grim being on your own, bored and fed up. Are there any local groups you could join? Could you do a class at a local college to get a new hobby? Or an online course? There are sometimes free classes that don’t cost any money. The Nextdoor Ap is good for finding local activities. I meet up with a couple of friends to go for a walk every couple of weeks. If I do it in the morning before fatigue gets me I can have a kip in the afternoon. I also read a lot - the Apple book store have a free book every week and lots for 99p. This time of year is the worst because you can’t even get out into the garden. I try and give myself something to do each day even if it’s just cleaning a bathroom - at least I feel as if I’ve achieved something.

Hang in there - this too will pass

hello have you applied for PIP? These are not means tested so your husbands earnings will not matter.
