Hi everyone. Thank you for answering my last question, however I have another oneHe (my partner) has developed a wheezing sound when he breaths. I don't want to be calling in the cavalry if its just a normal thing that happens.
I hope that makes sense

Hello.Wheezing when breathing requires clarification, since their cause can be both a liver disease and then it is called a hepatopulmonary syndrome, or an infection, for example or heart problems. In any case, your partner should consult a doctor. If you have a home pulse oximeter, then you can easily check the oxygen saturation for your partner.
You've previously said your husband has ascites- if this remains the case it's possible fluid in his abdomen is taking up some of the space the lungs need and is putting upwards pressure on them. In addition fluid can accumulate in the space between the lungs and ribs. Both of these things can impact breathing.
I'm of course in no way saying this is what's happening but it's worth monitoring closely and definitely needs addressing by a Dr if he starts to struggle further.
No experience of this I'm afraid but I hope you can get help. I've phoned the GP before and had then ring him for a phone consultation when funnily enough he's admitted a few things. They suggest hospital, he says no, but thinks about it and a few days later says he will go. Good luck!
