i have massive bruising on my right arm ,it started just under my elbow then got bigger down to my hand,now it looks like some of its healing and some are new ,I keep having blood tests ,but the doctor says it's because my liver can't do the clotting properly and I'm on warfrin, platelets are 40 since July and also quite yellow but in is fine im baffled ???

Easy bruising and/or difficulty stopping bleeds are very common symptoms with cirrhosis plus on top of that you've got your blood thinner contributing to the issue. Your spleen is gobbling up your platelets - your platelet count is low therefore your blood clotting time is increased

My hubby ended up with all his groin and midriff black and blue with a sub cutaneous haematoma (bruise) after he has a procedure where medics sent wires through his femoral artery. The can be long lasting and painful till bruise is healed.

You mentioned that you are on warfarin. Are you having your INR monitored regularly? The required dose of warfarin is controlled by a blood test. During the entire period of taking warfarin, the INR should be in the range of 2.0 - 3.0.
