calories or .....

Should I reduce calories and eat normal, or should I completely stay away from bread, soda, fats, cheese and sugar for second-degree cirrhosis of the liver?

Should I limit less than 2000 calories to make the liver work without getting tired, even if I eat bread, or does that harm it even if the calories are reduced?

Where are you getting this 2nd Degree Cirrhosis of the liver from?

Your fibroscan has risen to only 8.5 kPa which isn't yet anywhere near cirrhosis level.

If your issue has been Non Alcohol Related Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) then 8.5 at worst is in the F2-F3 range which is moderate to severe fibrosis (not cirrhosis until it hits F4 fibrosis or almost 12 kPa).

Different underlying conditions have different bars on the fibroscan score chart but none of them read as cirrhosis at only 8.5kPa.

The BLT has an excellent downloadable brochure about treating NAFLD with healthy eating and exercise at:- britishlivertrust.org.uk/do... (It includes suggested ways of eating to combat and slow down or stop NAFLD progress).

If you are able to you may also want to seek input from a specialist dietician who can make sure you are eating appropriately for your individual condition.

I mean by fibrosis, not cirrhosis. Google did not translate it correctly. I just wanted to ask whether the disease could increase even with weight loss, and the enzymes returned to normal, and with that the osis increased.

It's possible that whilst your kPa has increased it doesn't mean the liver has gotten any more damaged BUT that perhaps the 10 readings on your fibroscan hit different areas of your liver than the last time. The liver may also take a bit of time to catch up with your healthy living regime - perhaps repeat the scan some time down the line (another 6 months or so) and hopefully your good work, healthy eating (as per guidance for NAFLD) will have paid off.

Bloods all being normal and CAP score going down are all great news, just need the fibrosis to go the same way. If there is no active inflammation then hopefully no further damage will be being done.

Maybe try and include more exercise into your regime along with the healthy eating.

I discovered fatty hepatomegaly 20 cm two years ago and liver enzymes as ast 59 and alt 86 and I was 179 cm and 97 kg fat and I did not care at the end of 2020 and then in 2021 I re-tested and discovered that the enzymes increased and became ast 137 and alt 176 and then I started dealing seriously and did not I had no symptoms and no pain and the liver was still enlarged 19 cm and indirect bilirubin 9.5 and ggt 107 and the rest of the results were normal I went for a Fibroscan test and found the ratio 6.2 kPa and the fat percentage is 305uap I was not sure which probe was used to measure, but it seemed I have low and had a BMI of 31 bmi so I think the probe was XL I didn't know anything before that about liver and fibroscan and I weighed 102kg I had been eating bingely for 10 years or more and eating fast food and a lot of soda and noodles and staying for long hours in front of Computer and idleness. This was a year ago and I started taking it seriously and lost weight in a period of 27 days. That was last year in October and in November my weight became 88 kg and I was exercising andI only ate healthy food, no bread, no soda, and low calories less than 2000 calories per day. I became fine. I felt active and wanted a healthy weight. I re-tested after 27 days and found that the enzymes ast60, alt86, ggt 25 and the liver became 17 cm. I visited several doctors. And they assured me that the liver was fine. I did not remember that the fasting blood sugar was always more than 100, but I did not suffer from diabetes. I was taking metformin for 27 days, but the sugar became 110 and most importantly, my life is zigzag. I did a Fibroscan x-ray and found the fat I had become 246 average, but the most important thing was that I asked the doctor to inform me which probe the examination would take, but it was not clear because I know from the lengthy searches on the internet that the M probe gives a higher percentage than the XL probe, but he ignored me and after the examination I read in the device 9.6 kPa and When I asked him when he summoned me to ask me about the tests, did this result belong to me, although I also found it written in his device, he was confused and told me, No, it does not belong to you, and he told me that the result cannot go up to this extent in just a month andHe closed the window in the computer and said that the liver was normal and when he gave me the result it said it was 6.2 like last month and then I suspected that there was a glitch and I could not go to someone else because in my country there are not many devices and he is the only one in the city I was almost I am sure that the first examination a month ago was not accurate because I was obese and the liver had third degree fat, and I do not think that it is better to use the probe, and I know that the value between the two probes varies in many patients, unless it was only one probe that performed the test, but I had no evidence Sufficient and committed to exercise and healthy eating until last December when I weighed 78 kg and my body index became 25 bmi. Conditions, and after two months, I started feeling dizzy in the middle of March 2022, and I had felt it since 2018, but it lasted 3 months at most and then it subsided, but this time the dizziness is still to this day and I have not runThe blood test was done only in May, and the tests were normal, and I found vitamin D deficiency. I went to an ear-nose-throat specialist and he said that I am healthy and it is because of negative thinking and another doctor found that I have low pressure 09 I did not know if it was due to diet or not despite The hemoglobin was normal, the cholesterol was normal, the sugar was 1.06, the calcium was normal, the doctor gave me vitamins and vitamin D, and I did not improve, and the dizziness was daily, and when I walked, I only felt unsteadiness, not nausea, nor pain, only I did not feel that my steps were stable, and I found that vgm 79.5 And tcmh 26, i.e. microcytic anemia, I spent months of misery and prolonged thinking in the liver and dizziness and was patient until the month of October came, and I ate and drank soda, but in a moderate way, calculated in calories, and sometimes I could not stand the hunger and binge eating, but My weight has always been stable, and in the last month I started exercising and I did not feel dizzy when running, something strange. A week ago, I finally did all the tests for bilirubin, albumin, prothrombin, enzymes, and everything related toLiver, cholesterol, sugar and FerroSat and I found that the enzymes and for the first time became normal ast22 and alt11, increased HDL cholesterol and decreased bad cholesterol and everything was good. I checked with ultrasound and found that the liver became 147 mm and everything was normal Fibroscan, but the shock was two days ago, I found the value 8.5 kilopascals and 222 fat until I doubted the value and remembered last year when I saw a value of 9.6 in the computer and I was suspicious again, even the doctor found it contradictory. Can it increase fibrosis despite the normal tests and bilirubin has become Natural and natural enzymes, can autoimmunity do this, although autoimmunity increases enzymes? There was also a deficiency in ferritin 18, and fats are almost not found in the liver, or was it a real 9.6 result last year and it became 8.5 after 11 months, and can fibrosis develop within 11 months? From 6.2 to 8.5 despite the weight loss and diet, and can those days when I ate freely affect the result?I'm really lost and I did an autoimmune analysis and the result was on November 7 in conjunction with another result of Fibroscan I know I talked a lot, but I suffer from anxiety, I have two children, and I am very nervous and anxious, so what do you think? Please read my story carefully because I know that you have a lot of experiences and thank you

I think you need to concentrate on your healthy eating regime & exercise - don't cut out all carbs because that can lead you to lack energy and potentially cause your light headedness.

I can't comment too much on sizes of probes and their relevance in fibroscan ......... despite having cirrhosis my hubby has never had a fibroscan.

Keep yourself healthy, perhaps stop doing too much online research because it's only going to throw more anxiety into the mix.

Healthy eating, exercise and perhaps have further tests to check on progress in 6 months or so time.

Do I do an alpha-fetoprotein analysis or not?

AyrshireK profile image
AyrshireK in reply to amineacm

AFP is usually done 6 monthly when monitoring cirrhotic patients for possible liver cancer. It would be up to a doctor to decide what tests you need at your stage of liver ill health.

Does autoimmunity raise enzymes and liver function

AyrshireK profile image
AyrshireK in reply to amineacm

There are various auto-immune conditions that can affect the liver and raise enzymes - cause liver inflammation and damage liver.

But I don't have high enzymes or any liver function

AyrshireK in reply to amineacm

You've completely lost me now, no one appears to have ever told you that you have an auto immune condition therefore that's not an issue you need to concern yourself with. Your problems seem to be non alcohol related fatty liver from what you've said and you've improved your fatty liver and liver numbers with your change to healthier living. Ok your fibroscan has returned a slightly higher number.

You need to stop reading and researching, concentrate on living a healthy life and hopefully all your issues will disappear completely.
