Biopsy: Can anyone let me know if we... - British Liver Trust
Biopsy
Normally the hosptial will tell you of what the requirements are for your pre-op period. Obviously if there is some space of time between your pre-op and your biopsy you don't want to go picking covid up before you go as this will further delay your diagnosis and treatment.

Even if the hospital don't require you to isolate it makes sense to do it for your own peace of mind. You don't want anything to slow your recovery and coughing after a biopsy would cause a lot of pain
I know several people who had covid at least twice, one was a LOT worse the second time!
As others have said, self isolate. I had an endoscopy last Sept (2021). I had to get a PCR done on the Sunday at the hospital and then self isolate until the Wednesday when the procedure was done. The nurse told me it was because endoscopy was a high Covid risk procedure for the staff. So I suppose there’s two things here for you - you don’t want to get Covid between the pre op and the procedure, and you don’t want to be a risk to the staff that do the procedure. The more responsible we all are the lower the risks for everyone. What’s a couple of days? I got my food in, put my feet up and enjoyed sitting in my garden enjoying a good book.
Yes I had to for my banding doing also whoever you live with is also advised to but if they cant not a problem
Thanks all for your replies il know more monday 😊
