Kind of puzzled why you asking the same question again when you replied earlier to my answer from the last time you asked.

Obviously they are checking any number of things, in liver patients it checks liver, portal veinous flow, presence of ascites plus checks other organs in the abdomen.

You've got numerous issues so Doctors are being thorough in giving all necessary tests. It's not clear what they are looking at/for in your own particular case because you have several conditions by the sounds of it.

Go with the flow, get the tests done and see where you go from there. You can always ask your doctor - Why am I getting this test? What are you looking for?

Thanks, sorry I asked the sameQ twice, blame my anxious nature...I didn't know I had been on the list for US abdomen scan Maybe you're right and dr. just checking !
