Hep C meds coming Friday 🙂

My lovely liver nurses called today to see how I am and discuss my meds. When I said I haven't received any meds she said she would chase them up. Within an hour I had a call and the company will deliver on Friday. I am being prescribed Harvoni which is undoubtedly the best medicine for my hep c... I cannot wait. Such a relief.

It seems like a million years ago when back in January my doctor said he was referring me and now all that time waiting nervously has passed and Friday marks day one in my quest to beat Hep C, get my health back on track and conquer mount Everest... Well maybe not the last one 😁

The problem I have had is, hep c being a virus meant, nothing I have done up till now would have stopped the damage from continuing. I could help my liver with diet and exercise but I have been helpless to prevent hep c doing more damage. So, getting my medication is a huge relief and now the healing can begin. I'm so happy

Harvoni got rid of my Hep C in there months so it should work for you , I did however remove the sunset yellow orange coating before swallowing them as ive read its quite toxic and its not part of the medication so you might want to read about this E colour .No noticeable side effects from the drug which I took every morning before anything else

I'm 61 and every morning juice a lemon or two and mix the juice with beetroot juice and drink that on an empty stomach as it helps the liver .

Good luck with the harvoni and I hope you are cured in there months of taking the coarse .

Hi Gravy58, please do not remove the coating of your medication. Each medication's outer coating is formulated to aid with absorption. If you have concerns with regards to absorption of your medication, I would suggest taking Harvoni with a small amount of food. Best wishes

I appreciate Dollops concerns and that it comes with the kindest of intentions. But I'm sure that coating on tablets are there for specific reasons. Sometimes to allow medication to be slowly absorbed and sometimes to extend the shelf life.

I don't think anyone would intentionally add something harmful to life saving medication, and researching E numbers and additives can get confusing... Besides, chocolate is poisonous to all animals including humans it's just quantities that differ, any amount would kill a bird but 22 pounds would be fatal to a human... I'm pretty sure that applies to almost everything including E numbers or Harvoni. But I have complete faith in the Harvoni and it's coating.

So pleased you are getting your medication this week. As a mentioned quite some time ago, these, I am sure, will take effect within weeks and it's great you have a very supportive Liver Team i.e. the Nurses. They were fantastic with me when I discovered my Hep C. I noticed in one of your posts you live in Norfolk. What a lovely area - believe it or not that's the County I live in too. Apparently, I'm a grockle. As I was born in Kent and only been here 31 years so I'm still an outsider but I have been learning the language so I can talk to the natives in Norfolkese

I find repeating the words "on the ball city" and "hold you hard boy" gets me understood most times

Fortunately the wife is a cromer crab and translates for me.... I think she finds my conversations quite entertaining as she often compliments me by saying... "yurra rummun thas a load of old squit" which I believe means, what a very clever man you are and you speak so eloquently

Hi there Gravy58. Like you, I am not a "Nor....kian" and excuse the language. Originally a Lincolnshire Lass.

My husband certainly is Norfolk born and bred and originally lived in a little village called Toodlum - yes, there were only two houses there and I have got the spelling right!! That name would only happen in Norfolk.

Like you say, "squit" seems to have originated in this County and I can always remember my husband's Father saying that bless him. I don't think there was a day gone by when I didn't hear him say it in my younger years. I have just about got used to the accent now but it has taken nearly 50 years.

Lovely part of the Country though and we are not far from the "Royals". Yep, you've guessed correctly near Sandringham.

I hope you waved at me when I had afternoon tea with the queen 7 years ago... lovely day out but as I'm poor as a church mouse I was a little out of place.

Hi Gravy, we were told not to wave at anybody in case they got the wrong impression during my working years on the Estate. No-one should ever feel out of place - we are all humans. I'm positive everyone enjoyed your humour that day and I bet the "Cromer Crabs" were delicious!! Take care hey and never ever underestimate yourself.
