Don't focus on the past, do not make yourself feel bad. Depression drains us of all motivation. It is bad enough that our bodies ache and that makes it hard for us to get up and go to work but depression will try to make any effort impossible. Do not let it win.
Focus on the good things, your wife sounds amazing, looking after you and working, you should focus on the fact that you are so lucky to have her. Being happy will give you energy you think you do not have. When we cannot work, we can still tidy the house a little, we can cook a meal for our wives, we can pick a few flowers as a thank you for what they do.
All these things seem tiny, but, they will mean so much to your wife, plus, it is good for us to get active. The smile on our wives faces is also a huge bonus.
I'm sure you know fresh fruit (especially bananas) is a good source of potassium.
Thank You Dave for this. Yes im so lucky to have her by my side despite of all this. It's just that i can't help myself to feel depressed sometimes because i can't help her with financial aspect. We've been struggling financial since my diagnosed. The meds and the follow up check ups etc.. Sometimes i wonder to ask help on this forum but i know we are all struggling.
Yeah i can do little household chores, like fixing our christmas light since holidays is coming and she is so happy with that, watering our plants too. She doesnt want me to cook because i may put more salt on my food😂
Do you have cihhrosis too? I have decompensated liver disease..
I'm still waiting for my fibroscan. I have hepatitis c, (possibly had it for 30 years) and my platelets are low, type 2 diabetes and I am (finally) beating depression. I do not know what state my liver is in yet, but I feel tired, dizzy, breathless, headaches and a little sick especially if I eat fatty or salty food... and I itch (worst is at night, it can keep me awake) but since confronting my depression I can now cope better with any problems as they come along.
Sorry to hear you all suffered to that.. Me too before i have sleep disturbace, im awake at night, fatigue and very weak..So happy to hear you beat finally the depression you are feeling..
