Hello everyone!! This is my first post but ive been in this forum maybe a month ago. I have been reading post that was helpful and it gives me hope😊
I have been diagnosed with decompensated cihhrosis due to heavy drinking last august. Decompensated because i have symptoms like Ascites, Hepatic Encepalopathy, weakness, muscle loss etc..
Right now i can say that im ok now ( but i know my liver is already damaged). I can now do walking, riding on a motorbike, doing light chores and even cooked my own food😊
I have whole abdominal ultrasound, my organs are all normal except my liver and i know that!
So what bothers me is that i still feel scared sometimes eventho i feel okay now, a lot of what if's are still on my mind. And that i always think what will happen tomorrow because cihhrosis is a serious case.
Hope everyone is feeling okay right now.
God Bless us all

It's very common when given a serious diagnosis to go into a phase of adjustment depression where there are lots of worries plus perhaps an element of mourning the life you once had but over time you do improve and learn to live with the 'new life' you have.
Ok, you've now got a diagnosis of cirrhosis with some of the more serious symptoms but if it was alcohol induced then remaining abstinent your liver gets the best chance of some degree of recovery and if doctors keep on top of your other symptoms it is possible to return your liver to a more compensated/stable state.
It sounds like you are doing 'ok' in the grand scheme of things in still being able to walk about (very important to remain active), do your chores and cook for yourself plus being able to get about. In the UK you would probably be advised not to drive/ride if you have HE but the situation in your country may be very different.
Stay sober, keep exercising, limit your salt and sugar intake and eat plenty of carbs and protein (little and often) and hopefully you can rebuild some of that lost muscle and get your body a bit fitter.
Thank You for always responding Katie😊You are such an amazing person. Yeah maybe i should learn to accept that this is my new life now, eating less salt, not drinking anymore and so on...
I hope everyone in this forum could get better😊
Hi There! My ascites are now gone and the doctor told me to stop my water pills now. Dont be jealous, as we are the same having decompensated cihhrosis. One day at a time youll get where i am now too. Just keep the faith, do what your doctors say, and dont drink..
I was too weak too before, but now i have somehow regain not everything but at least a bit of strength..
Im still worried what will happen everyday though so dont be jealous😊
