Itch
Itchy skin is a common thing there is not a great deal you can do about it tell your doctors but it’s one of the things that get better by itself and although it’s a real nuisance I promise it does get better, I do feel for you because it’s horrible good luck.Stay Safe All

Sorry I just deleted post as I got the wrong post. Apologies, it was to do with palm itching not AIH. I'm not a weirdo! 😄
Take care x
That's not a problem
It's common with liver disease, but I'd just check it out with doc or pharmacist. Eurax cream may help.
I have AIH and I take Azathioprine but also Urso which is supposed to help with the itch. I’m lucky I haven’t had the itch so I can’t say for sure it helps. However, my Mum had PBC with the itch and Urso definitely helped her. Worth asking your consultant because I know it can drive you nuts! ( The itch not the Urso)
Thanks I will certainly do that
Hi iv never spoken to anyone with AIH b4 can I ask what ur health is like and how did you get diagnosed ?? I was diagnosed last September I was taking into hospital with liver failure I cud of died. The reason I am asking as I'm still not great I'm fatigued all the time and generally unwell, I take Azathioprine and I'm still on Steroids aswell, been on them a year now, if you don't wanna answer it ok just nice to no about someone else who had AIH 😁
I see you saying that you haven't spoken with anyone else with AIH to share experiences etc. If you have Facebook there is a superb UK based AIH support group with over 3000 members all of whom either have AIH or like myself are supporting loved ones with the condition. The group is supported by lots of the top doctors in the UK who are working in AIH research and treatment and you'll find members there of all ages and stages of diagnosis from complete 'newbies' to long term patients and even several who are post transplant. Some of the admin helped draw up the AIH pages for the British Liver Trust.
You'll get a warm welcome and loads and loads of support. facebook.com/groups/AIHorgUK
The group is private so anything you post there isn't visible to anyone outside the group and doesn't appear on your feed.

Thank you iv sent to join the group 😀
Hi, I don’t know if this will help you, but my husband had itching all over when his bilirubin was high & he got some relief from drinking water & tried creams, but mostly nothing helped much until he was prescribed Questran Light (Colestyramine 4g sachets made into an oral suspension with water or fruit juice twice a day). I hope you feel better soon.
My father had AIH, by the way, he also had MDS, he was 90, & had a lot of fatigue & blood transfusions. Steroids helped him, & other medications I can’t remember, I think it was Azathioprine.
It's absolutely murder the only thing that worked for me was miracle cream from Lush at least it gave me some relief, was on all sorts of meds nothing helped, best of luck.
I try Benadryl or very low dose allergy tablet for itchy skin. Works for me, I’ve got a bit of cirrhosis.
