Cyst on my liver

Hi has anyone had a cyst on their liver ? I’ve recently had my gallbladder out and there was a cyst on my liver but they just left it ?? Why would they not get rid of it ? Could it turn nasty ? xx

Hi Sammy,

I have had some cysts on my liver and in the main the doctors are happy to leave them as usually most are pretty benign and will never cause you any problems. I even had some on my new liver shortly after transplant and my medical team weren't bothered by them in the slightest.

I have two small cysts on my liver, discovered about six years ago. I've been told repeatedly that they are of no concern.
