Can't seem to find an answer to this question.
Is there any scenario were a person could live symptom free with compensated cirrhosis for 20 years?
Im aware of all the factors that can make you asymptomatic for "many years"

The scenario--being very lucky. Think about the classic "bell-shaped curve," where the peak is the average length of time someone may have asymptomatic compensated cirrhosis. Half will see less time with no symptoms, half will see more. Some lucky few will be at the far right tail of that curve, some unlucky few will be at the far left. All anyone can do is to do all the right things to boost their chances of staying compensated as long as possible. Hope you get lucky.
And if you're cirrhotic and feeling fine, and able to do so, consider becoming an activist for liver disease. The more voices there are demanding a cure/breakthrough treatment, the sooner they will be discovered.
I certainly hope so!
It's a progressive condition so if the cause is removed there's no reason for it to get worse.
That thought is what gives me hope
I am now living with that hope and just fear things changingI will never drink again
All Toxin related products have been disposed of and only natural foods
eaten
My life is on hold at the moment and I so wish the Scarring heals
How long does a compensated Liver function before more advanced issues begin I would love to have some time with my grandkids after this awful Pandemic and let them get to know me
My consultant said to me the other day now that I’m compensated,as long as I stay off the booze my liver won’t deteriorate any futher. I’m symptom free and fittest I’ve ever been. My blood work has normalised so it’s 6 monthly checks ups. I’ve read story’s of people living with liver disease for 20 plus years. The human body is amazing when you treat it right. 😊👍
That is the best news Ive heardSo enjoy every minute of your life x
My Hep said he has seen quite a few patients live 16 - 18 years.
A transplant could give you more. Or kill you.
But some good news, he says that the biggest problem is people who have it due to alcohol not giving up drinking alcohol. If a patient can quit alcohol the patient can add even more years on top of the 16-18.
Child score says if you are Child A (roughly that means you are compensated) you can live 15-20 years and that has been used for many years by many of the best doctors.

And the Mayo Clinic says that while this happens rarely, sometimes compensated cirrhosis can revert back not being cirrhosis. See third paragraph.

Nothing I wrote should be taken as medical advice, I am not a doctor.
Is it possible that you don't have cirrhosis, no symptoms in 20 yrs, normal bloods, how are your platelets? if they are normal, maybe think about getting a biopsy.
