Docoter told me i can improve my liver by changing my diet it been 7 weeks i exercise 4 days aweek a been eating super healthy but am diabetic the diet is causeing my blood sugers to drop and send me into hypos so had to have the odd jelly babies or pure orange juice been trying to keep my sugers right with natural sugers with fruit i have avoided pain killers i just dunno what els to do.

Do you see/have a diabetes nurse? Your nurse or your GP or your hospital specialist should be able to arrange for you to see a dietician, obviously you need to be eating appropriately to manage both conditions.

You are very early into your liver journey and if you've suddenly changed your diet and your exercise regime it can send your liver numbers a bit wonky at the start so don't fret those at the moment.

You still need to eat a balanced, healthy diet to take care of your liver plus your diabetes. If you are having hypo's you need to tweak your diet somehow to prevent that whilst not contributing further to your fatty liver................. a dietician appointment is a must.

Yeah seen a dietican the diet am on is what she recommend i spoke to her on Monday she recommend to reduce my insulin witch wasnt to sure so rang my diabetic nurse who got the diabetic consulting to ring me and he wasnt happy that dietican told me to do that he said under no circumstances should play around with my insulin told me that i need to start adding snacks inbween meals like a banna and a kitkat that was his example. I have told him am really worried about my liver i been paying for blood test my self to keep track if it myself my husband say am obsessing and the stress making my anxiety worse. The consultant dosnt seem that worried about it or my liver or enlarged spleen but i am i have two young children i want be as healthy as i can.

Hi Peppy,

You just got to give it time. Liver disease can be a slow process both ways. Just be patient. You're being closely monitored and your docs will look dor any significant changes over time. Dont be too surprised though if there is some minor fluctuations. Thats likely to be the case. Just keep doing what your doing but do get some advice on the propper diet for you so it can be managed appropriately with your diabetes.

Hello , I can see you are getting lots of support from our forum.
