Hi I had my Fibroscan yesterday, the lovely gentleman who did it said I should be very happy with 5.3, I have lots comments on here regarding CAP scores, he didn’t say what mine was, the only other thing was I saw him write 13% does anyone know if I can work out my CAP score and what it means ? I was diagnosed with NAFL 6 months ago after ultrasound, I’ve been taking statins for 6 months for high triglycerides.
Thanks in advance.

Have you got an appointment for a follow up with your doctor or whoever ordered the scan. Your 5.3 kPa result is brilliant, however, depending on the machine used there should also be a CAP score which reflects the amount of fat in the liver. You can't work out your CAP score based on anything you've seen written but hopefully your doctor will get an actual report with everything detailed.
Hi I have an appointment in 3 months to see the consultant, before he did the Fibroscan I asked if I would have to wait that long for the results, he said the appointment would be brought forward if there was anything to be concerned about, afterwards when he said 5.3kpa was very news, I was between F0-F1 on the chart he circled. Thanks
Yes if your issue is NAFLD it is very good - F0 and not quite yet at F1. CAP score would have been useful to you too but you just need to keep working on doing all you can to reduce any fat.
