Gallbaldder Polyps

Hi I've recently been for an ultrasound scan after having abdominal pain and was told I had a polyp in my gallbaldder. I was just wondering if anyone knew if a polyp can cause pain because I am still having pain now.

Are you going to have an opportunity to discuss the result with your GP/specialist? You can ask him/her whether it is the cause of your pain. You might also consider asking how big the polyp is and whether you will be monitored for any change in size.

Yeah they said that the polyp shouldn't be causing pain. I looked on the internet and it said polyps can cause pain similar to gallstones. I was told i would have to go back in 6 months for a further scan to see if the polyp has grown.

I had a large polyp but it didn't cause me any pain, it was monitored for a year then had urgent gallbladder removal as it was possibly cancerous, it wasn't !
