My friend noticed the colour of his urine change and had been like that for about three months now. It appeared as if there was blood in the urine. He went for a urine analysis and culture, but the result was fine. He was advised to do a kidney test which result also came out fine. To further diagnose, he was asked to do a LFT. The LFT results are: PCV- 42, Total Bilirubin- 1.0, Direct Bilirubin- 0.4, ALK_Phos.- 11, ALT(SPGT)- 6, AST(SGOT)- 20. After analysing the test result, the doctor prescribed Livolin
(1 cap/day), and more water/fluid intake.
I will to know more about the LFT results and liver condition that may be associated with it.

I am sorry, but sadly we won't be able to help say what may be going on with your friend as none of us are medically qualifed to comment on blood results - this would entirely be up to your friends doctor to decipher the blood results and if need be investigate further.
He probably needs to follow doctors advice just now and then get some repeat bloods if things don't improve.
Sadly as you are in Nigeria I don't know what sort of health service or interventions they employ over there - I don't think they would just prescribe something like Livolin in the UK without carrying out full investigations and seeing if there is something actually wrong with the liver (blood tests wouldn't necessarily be the only tests done).
I hope your friend gets help from his doctors.

Hello,We do ask members not to post their test results, no one on the forum is qualified to offer medical advice. We are also UK based so cannot comment on the prescription from the doctor.
We hope your friend can raise any questions or concerns about their results with their own doctor.
